well, that was awesome.
it had powerful emotional impact, and male witnesses won't be well received at the door.
i think the molester in the sault will not be very welcome at doors in his community after this.

for everyone who's watched.... or is in the process of watching the show..... .
please feel free to post your comments.... reactions.... quotes that stood out in your mind here!.
love, scully
What a thrill to see this show tonight!!!!
It was abolutely thorough in its coverage of all the excuses the WTS and JWs give and it showed thoses excuses up for what they are.....shallow and shameful.
And "shameful"is the word that one of the police force used several times in describing what the elders did to Holly and her mother and sister by not believing their accusations and telling the mother to "be a better wife".
Over and over again the point was driven home that contrary to all the statements of the WTS of their caring and concern for the victims, their true goal of "keep the image of the organization clean at all costs" was and is their primary concern.
As calamityjane said: the pompous attitude of the elders and JR Brown was vividly shown. They have so much to answer for.
Hooray to Mike Moss and Vicki Boer and Holly and her family and those who needed to keep their identity unknown but had the courage to speak out anyway. What a wonderfully brave thing they have done in exposing this injustice. I hope this helps in their healing.

mrs ozzie and i are enjoying a week in the blue mountains at a convention (no, not a district convention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
) but we didn't want to miss out on our customary poll, so we're sending this from a very welcoming cafe in scenic katoomba.
check it out on the web.
Greetings Ozzie and Mrs. Ozzie...glad you're having a good time away.
I always thought:
#12 Other: We can always count on our brothers and sisters to be there for each other to help out in a crisis because of our unique love and concern for each other. Yikes! was I really that naive?
The trouble with that answer is that one time, after I pridefully made that comment when some disaster struck somewhere, someone asked me "why do you only help JWs in need....what about other people who are suffering right beside them?". I was embarassed at how selfish my belief had sounded.
That probably was another time a seed of doubt was planted and contributed to the huge field of questions starting to grow in that vast wasteland of JW brainwashing inside my head.
Cheers!

in the information kit entitled jehovah's witnesses - guidelines for their non-blood medical management the chapter entitled "emergency protocol involving jehovah's witnesses" instructs all hospital doctors and nurses to check each casualty's wallet/purse for a blood card in case the patient is a jw.
yeah, right!
it also states:.
Thanks Ozzie ....its probably taken you this long to wade through my last email to you.
Cheers to you both,

Thanks Ozzie and Scully for bringing this info to our attention.
I have already talked to my doctor about my new beliefs on blood transfusion so its in his records but I didn't think about the computerized records at the hospitals I've been to. I'll have to get right on that job now that I know that the HLC is to be called regardless even if I no longer carry that card.

would someone with the old green kingdom songbook mind scanning and mailing me the song "grateful praise?
" i believe it's song 16 in that book.
it's only a two-line song.
I just read on Englishman's thread that the "chopsticks" rendition of the Kingdub song was played for us by Farkel.
Wow Farkel, another of your talents exposed. Thank you and please share more of your compositions with us. They're far more interesting and entertaining than the ones we had to sing (and I had to play).

JH:
Thank you for that lovely rendition. I would love to know who composed and played that little ditty.
"Kingdumb" Songs would have been alot more fun to play if I would have had that composition!

as many of you know, i'm divorced, have been for 2 years now, after a 13 year marriage.
my ex and i get along pretty well, we're friends of a sort, and we have our kids' well being as our main priority in life.
that's not the weird part..well, i suppose in some ways it is, but that may be a story for another post!.
Hey there (((((Dana))))):
It sure is heartwarming to see you're having such positive experiences with your ex. Even if you never do get back together, your kids are still going to benefit from seeing mom and dad enjoying each other's company.
btw....I think Expat's pic is Marvin the paranoid android in The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Hey Expat...am I right??
That's the book Expat used to relate a scene to me that I could use to dwell on if or when I reached the point of wanting to do a swan dive of the upper deck at the district assembly I felt coerced into attending last summer. It worked....I had inner fits of giggles ripping through me that I had to contain regularly through that weekend.

today i spoke with a former jw i've been in touch with for several years and discovered what i think could be a major bombshell for the wts.
as we all know, shunning is the most powerful weapon the wt cult has over its members and for decades the wts has been able to get away with practicing it at their whim.
the us and other courts have permitted them to to use it, even though it destroys families and has ruined countless lives.
Thanks Farkel:
I haven't been watching the board as much these past couple of months, so I'm so glad I didn't miss this one!!
This is great news. After reading this, I've just had a few minutes spewing memories of my df'ing that showed me my wounds still have not healed. I can still vividly picture and feel what I went through having to "walk the gauntlet" up the aisle of the KH to find an available seat after the meeting had started. The elders made it very plain that I was to come in after the song and prayer as a df'd person is not worthy to take part of these things. Even more humiliating though was to see the look on my childrens' faces as they had to watch their mother go through this while they had to sit with their father.
And to spend some time with them after the meeting, we had to go downstairs so few would have to see us together.
I would assume that the Watchtower Libel Association will do everything in its power to get it over-turned: a ruling like this affects their power over their followers, and they are mad with power.
I agree the WLA will not want to lose their hold over the flock.
I look forward to watching how this turns out and hopefully Farkel, you will get the go-ahead to let us fill the judge in on the many horror stories so many of us have lived or are still living through. Finally, we are getting to see some law officials with backbone and insight.
